Track is a spring sport that begins after March 1 (weather permitting) and continues through mid-May.

Track is a no-cut program open to all SMS students in 5th-8th grades.  Due to changes in the NWCC eligibility rules, 4th graders are no longer able to participate in track - but keep running!

Fees for the 2020 season are $65 with an additional $25 for a singlet (jersey), if needed.  Singlets are the same as Cross Country and can be used for both sports.  Gently used singlets may be available.

Practices are generally held weekdays, immediately after school.  Please see the schedule for specific dates and times. Athletes are expected to attend as many practices as possible to perform at their best and allow for relay team coordination.

There are generally 3-4 regular meets during the season that culminate in the NWCC conference finals.  Qualifying athletes will have the opportunity to compete in the IESA sectional and state meets as well.  Meets are typically on Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons and last approximately 3 hours.  Please see the schedule for specific dates and times.  Note that we will not know exact meet dates until the conference coach's meeting.

We know you're busy!  There are lots of ways to help out for people with all different availability and we expect that all families contribute back in some way.  Please check out our volunteer page to find what works best for you.  We really appreciate all our volunteers.
